training.

Today was pretty warm so after our after noon walk, I decided to pick back up on the come sit stay training. Roxie is a very quick learner and does extremely well in the back yard. In the back yard the only distractions are birds and squirrels which she can disregard, it's hard for her but she can do it.

The front yard is another adventure, the shinny cars are a big distraction. Its very hard to keep her focused in the front yard. She wants to play and watch the cars go by. This is frustrating no matter how cute she is.

Any suggestions?

  1. I wish we had some suggestions for you. Just keep at it, she's young and smart. Our two dogs are still learning to stay and come. And when there are distractions, oh boy, just forget about it.

One dog trainer told me that you have to make yourself more exciting than the distraction when you're trying to make her come to you. Even if it means jumping up and down and making a fool of yourself.
